This election is a close two-horse race between Sadiq and the Tories.

The Tories have changed the voting system in London to make it easier for them to win. You’ll now only get one vote for Mayor - which means there’s no insurance policy of a second preference.

The election is between Sadiq, who has a positive vision to build a fairer, greener and safer London for everyone, or the divisive, hard-right Tory candidate, who will take our city backwards.

Sadiq will support Londoners through the cost-of-living crisis, with free school meals and a TfL fares freeze. He’ll build 40,000 more council homes, deliver rent control homes, push through police reform, end rough sleeping, take world-leading climate action and tackle both crime and the causes of crime. He’ll also continue to stand up for London’s open, outward-looking and liberal values.

In stark contrast, the Tory candidate, Susan Hall, is someone who wants to cancel Sadiq’s free school meals and voted against his TfL fares freeze. She’s promoted Islamophobic abuse and Enoch Powell’s racist views on social media. She’s a big supporter of Donald Trump, Suella Braverman and Nigel Farage. She’s promoted climate change denial online. And she suggested police misconduct against women was limited to a few 'bad'uns' and 'wrong'uns', which could be dealt with behind closed doors.

Every vote could make the difference in this vital election, which is now on a knife-edge.

The Tories have introduced new photo ID rules, which could prevent a million Londoners missing out on their chance to vote. So don’t let the Tories sneak in. A vote for any party other than Labour will only make it more likely that we wake up after the election to the nightmare of having a hard-right Tory Mayor.

The only way we can stop this and safeguard everything that makes London so special is by voting for Sadiq on 2 May.
